Welcome to World of Yarn!

This is my blog dedicated to the craft of crochet. I love to crochet and have spent a significant portion of my life doing it. I plan to use this platform to put up my original patterns for free for anyone who might be interested in trying them. Don't forget to let me know if you have tried them and what you think!

Lalaloopsy Jewel

For Ivy's birthday she wanted a lalaloopsy girl....Jewel to be exact.  I started making her way back in September while little Malcolm was in the hospital with his eye infection, but didn't finish until the evening before Ivy's birthday.  I'm such a slacker.

Here's what jewel looked like in September

And on Ivy's birthday..

Here she sits with her store bought sister.  One of my greatest pieces of work I think.

Raccoon man

This cute little guy was a request from an etsy customer.  Created from said customer's own artwork. He's cute eh?

Big headed kitty cat!

My mom asked me to crochet her "a kitty" for her birthday.  This is what came of that request.  Don't ask me why it's head is square, for some reason at the time it seemed like a good idea.  I don't love it, but I wanted to document it anyway.

Silvermist of the Disney Fairies

The lovely Silvermist....I had a lot of fun with her dress.  I love how it turned out.

Iridessa of the Disney fairies

I decided it was finally time to add to my fairy line.  Here is Iridessa

The Little Mermaid

So Ariel, the mermaid version has been on my to-do list for like a year, but I admit, I was afraid of that fin.  But my daughter, Ivy, who is completely obsessed with the movie, was going in for a long, traumatic heart surgery this week, and I thought it was the perfect time to get working on it.  My goal was to finish it before her surgery was over.  I did.  I finished it with more than 2 hours to spare!  I was so excited to give it to her when she woke up.  Here is how she turned out!

The fin was a lot easier than I thought it would be.  I'm very pleased with how she turned out!

Fawn the Fairy

I've been wanting to work on my disney fairies line forever, but just never got around to it.  Well my niece, who is a big fairies fan had a birthday recently, so I saw it as an opportunity to get started.  I asked her mom which fairy was her favorite and got to work.  Presenting Fawn.
