Welcome to World of Yarn!

This is my blog dedicated to the craft of crochet. I love to crochet and have spent a significant portion of my life doing it. I plan to use this platform to put up my original patterns for free for anyone who might be interested in trying them. Don't forget to let me know if you have tried them and what you think!

Spongebob and Patrick

For Dexter's 6th birthday I made him a mini spongebob toy and a mini patrick to go with it.  I love how these little guys turned out and Dexter was quite excited about the both of them!

Here's good ol' Patrick Star

And the ever lovable (or is it annoying) Spongebob Squarepants

Homer Simpson

My dad recently celebrated his 66th birthday, so for it I made him this Homer Simpson hat....Now I just gotta make a Marge one for my mom!

Panda and Eeyore

My sister Kim contacted me about making her daughter, Rae a couple of hats for her birthday.

There is a panda hat

And an Eeyore hat.  Eeyore was REALLY hard, but turned out great I think!

Bender

Also in January I made this Bender (futurama) hat for Scott's buddy Kris.

The king of the Jungle???

In January the same Etsy Customer that ordered Raccoon man contacted me with a new request.  A lion he had drawn.  Here is how the crochet version turned out...

The red claws equal blood.......yeah, weird.

Bearded Hats

At Christmas time I made 5 or 6 bearded hats for various customers.  They seemed to be all the rage right then.  Here are a few of them.

Perry the Platypus hat

Corbin a lucky duck (well platypus I guess).  He got a perry the platypus hat for Christmas!  Doesn't he look adorable!

Echo and Ivy's Christmas Hats

For Christmas Echo got a Dr Suess style hat just like Malcolm, and Ivy got a couple of thick headbands to cover her ears, yet allow her hair to be in a ponytail, since she is obsessed with ponytails.

Malcolm's Christmas Hat

This hat looks like its straight out of Dr Suess, but I love it!

Sonic the hathog

This winter I decided to make the kids hats for Christmas.  First up Sonic for Dexter.

I seriously LOVE this hat.  It is so cute and awesome, and Dex loves wearing it.  I actually made a second one for another kid in the neighborhood who loved it too.

Christmas gifts for the Earls.

This year we had Scott's sister, Heidi's family to buy gifts for at Christmas.  They wanted me to make dolls.  At their requests I made a Katelyn Fairy for Katelyn of course...

A Finn and Jake for Bradley...

A penguin for Melissa, and a Princess Jasmine for Juliana.  But I'm an idiot and forgot to get pictures of the last two.

Lalaloopsy Jewel

For Ivy's birthday she wanted a lalaloopsy girl....Jewel to be exact.  I started making her way back in September while little Malcolm was in the hospital with his eye infection, but didn't finish until the evening before Ivy's birthday.  I'm such a slacker.

Here's what jewel looked like in September

And on Ivy's birthday..

Here she sits with her store bought sister.  One of my greatest pieces of work I think.
